Things I learned at Sundance: Days 4+
-The animated shorts made me realize I need to stop dragging ass, and update my reel.
-Don Hertzfeld’s latest short, “Its Such a Beautiful Day,” is funny and touching. I got teary, and the lady next to me was weeping. I’ve been a fan of his work for 8 or 9 years or so, and imagine my surprise when I realized he’s just a but older than me.
-Mexican food 3 days in a row means you blood cheese content level is past the legal limit.
-Sundance passes get you into surprisingly little.
-Maybe that’s not really a surprise.
-Mike Bribiglia’s directorial debut, an adaptation of his one man show, “Sleep Walk With Me,” is as entertaining a story of trying to make it as a comedian, as it is about having sleep disorders that make you jump out of hotel room windows in your sleep.
-Crashing an company’s karaoke party means you don’t get to sing karaoke.
-There’s an RV in one of the parking lots that hosts a karaoke party from 10:30pm to 1:30am every night of the film festival.
-People are upset about Oscar nominations.
-The Cranberries are releasing a new album.
